Special election is the best option

The mess created by Gov. Blagojevich needs special action right away. One of the charges is that he was trying to sell the senate seat. As this ongoing saga plays out, how long will it be before we know who was involved?

The person who will be put in charge in to make this decision for Senator is Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn who has steadfastly defended the governor since 2006, when the administration was under investigation. Now the lieutenant governor, the second in command, has said he was totally unaware anything was going on and never met with the governor to discuss the investigation or any wrongdoing.

He may not have known but why not let them complete there investigation.

Going forward a special election is definitely needed.

We elected this bozo so give us a chance to make it right. Let us choose!

I know this suggestion would worry the Democrats who could lose a senate seat.

To help pay for this special election, ask for volunteers and donations from people that are upset with the current selection process. The Daily Herald could help coordinate this effort and print articles on the candidates and their views.
