Wild turkey discussion
Learn more about the wild turkey - an American bird that Benjamin Franklin thought should be our national emblem - during a book discussion at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13 hosted by the Liberty Prairie Conservancy. The discussion of "Illumination in the Flatwoods: A Season with the Wild Turkey" provides an understanding of the life of a wild turkey, which is far different from the domesticated animals served at Thanksgiving dinner. The event will be held at a home north of Libertyville and registration is required. Admission is $15, or $10 for Conservancy members. Call (847) 548-5989, ext. 33 or register at libertyprairie.org.
