Arlington Heights
• Vandals spray-painted graffiti on two walls at Midas, 797 Algonquin Road, between 6 p.m. Oct. 25 and 7:30 a.m. Oct. 27. A damage estimate was not available.
• Burglars stole a purse and cell phone around 1 p.m. Oct. 27 out of an unlocked 1993 Nissan Altima at a business on the 500 block of East Algonquin Road.
• Someone broke into a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup parked in an office complex on the 500 block of East Golf Road between 6 p.m. Oct. 26 and 8 a.m. Oct. 27 and stole a $250 GPS unit; the truck belongs to Good News Home Improvement.
Buffalo Grove
• Thieves stole three magnetic company signs from the sides of a 2008 Chevrolet van on the 200 block of Thompson between 8:30 p.m. Oct. 30 and 10:51 a.m. Oct. 31. The signs, which said "Dog training" and had a phone number and Web site, were worth about $300.
Des Plaines
• Someone pried open the front door at a home on the 1700 block of Chestnut between 9:20 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Oct. 29; a laptop computer and digital camera were stolen and the house was ransacked. Loss was estimated at $800.
• Joseph H. Bass, 21, 1303 Baldwin, Apt. 3B, Palatine, and Daniel J. Zalewski, 22, 209 E. Oakwood Ave., Des Plaines, were arrested around 12:05 a.m. Oct. 30 after a traffic stop on the 0-100 block of Walnut Avenue. Bass was charged with traffic violations, driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of marijuana; his court date is Dec. 1. Zalewski was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia; his court date is Dec. 12.
• Thieves cut a chain lock and stole 40 radiators out of a yard at Kevin's Auto Salvage, 1331 E. Golf Road, between 6 p.m. Oct. 29 and 8 a.m. Oct. 30. The loss was estimated at $1,600.
• A vandal threw a pumpkin at a 2005 Chevrolet Express van on the 500 block of Westgate Road overnight Oct. 29-30, denting a rear panel and damaging a lock; total damage was estimated at $700.
Mount Prospect
• Burglars tampered with the roof vents at Tortas Locas, 1839 W. Algonquin Road, and got inside overnight Oct. 29-30. It was the second time in two days the place was broken into; this time $900 was taken, and $600 was missing the first time.
• An apartment on the 500 block of Dogwood Lane was burglarized 6:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Oct. 30; jewelry, purses and a wallet were stolen. There was no sign of forced entry; the loss was estimated at $1,240.
Rolling Meadows
• Someone broke into a car on the 2400 block of Golf Road between 8:30 p.m. Oct. 27 and 7:30 a.m. Oct. 28; the intruder rifled through a suitcase, but nothing appeared missing. A damage estimate was not available.
Wheeling
• Vandals broke the passenger's-side mirror off a 1997 Ford Escort in an apartment lot on the 100 block of Arbor Court between 8 p.m. Oct. 30 and 5:45 a.m. Oct. 31; damage was estimated at $150.
• A vandal broke a condominium window with a rock around 9:45 p.m. Oct. 30 on the 700 block of Mill Circle. Damage was estimated at $700.
• Julius Allen Lowe III, 24, 422 Arrow Trail, Wheeling, was arrested around 3:10 a.m. Oct. 31 on Lodge and Tahoe Circle and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. His court date is Dec. 16.
