Hoffman Estates

• Laila Shirkey, 39, 2004 Oxford Court, Schaumburg, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. Oct. 31 and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana after a traffic stop at Golf Road and Salem Drive. Her court date is Dec. 18.

• Someone broke into a condominium building storage room on the 1800 block of Huntington Boulevard Oct. 1-Nov. 1; a radiator and a catalytic converter for a 1990 Porsche was stolen. The loss was estimated at $1,700.

• A 2001 Honda Odyssey on the 1800 block of Brookside was vandalized midnight-9 a.m. Nov. 1; damage was estimated at $300.

• Two mailboxes and a landscape light were smashed at two homes on the 1600 block of Acorn Drive around 12:45 a.m. Nov. 1. Total damage was estimated at $125.

Schaumburg

• Bartolo D. Garcia, 26, 2116 Walnut, Hanover Park, was arrested around 11:05 a.m. Nov. 1 and charged with retail theft from Kohl's, 171 N. Barrington Road. His court date is Dec. 11.

• A purse valued at $200 was stolen from a customer at a restaurant on the 1900 block of East Higgins Road 1-1:30 p.m. Nov. 2.

• Two laptop computers valued at $3,000 were stolen out of a 1998 BMW on Aegean Drive between 6:30 p.m. Oct. 31 and 3 p.m. Nov. 1.

• Two laptop computers, a digital camera, two cell phones, two headphones, an MP3 player and clothes were stolen out of the hatchback of a 2006 Toyota parked at Woodfield Mall, 12:30-1 p.m. Nov. 1. The loss was estimated at $6,665.

• Two shoppers at Woodfield were victimized by a thief around 3:10 p.m. Nov. 1; a wallet was stolen out of one purse and money was taken out of a side pocket on a second purse. The total loss was estimated at $500.
