Glendale Heights police looking for armed robbery suspect

Glendale Heights police are asking for help in finding a man who robbed the Tobacco Shop this week.

Police said they were called at 5:27 p.m. Monday to the business at 217 E. Army Trail Road. A man wielding a gun reportedly demanded cash from a clerk along with a carton of cigarettes before fleeing the store.

Police describe the suspect as between 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 9 inches tall with a chubby build. He was wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt with a Chicago Cubs logo on the front, white tennis shoes, blue jeans and a black ski mask.

Officers and a police dog searched the area. Authorities said the suspect the man got into a vehicle in the 1900 block of Bloomingdale Road.
