Citizenship workshop Saturday

A free citizenship workshop session will be from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Nov. 22 at St. Emily Parish Center, 1400 E. Central Road, Mount Prospect. No advance registration is required. Trained staff and volunteers will assist eligible immigrants with their citizenship applications. This is part of the statewide New Americans Initiative project. Chamber rewards big spenders

The Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its own economic stimulus package. Bring in receipts from purchases with chamber members totaling $300. Receipts will be entered into a drawing for $100 in gift certificates and prizes for November and $100 in gift certificates and prizes for December. Receipts dated between Oct. 31 and Dec. 31 and totaling at least $300 are eligible. One drawing each will be held in December and January. For a list of chamber members, visit mountprospectchamber.org. Bring receipts to the Chamber, 107 S. Main St. and complete a form to be entered into the drawing.

Park district collects coats

The Wheeling Park District and Community Consolidated School District 21 are teaming up to gather coats for needy Wheeling families through December. Residents are asked to bring any unused coats to the Wheeling Park District Community Recreation Center, 333 W. Dundee Road, Wheeling, so that those coats can be distributed to families in need. All coats, regardless of size, whether new or used, will be accepted. Any used coats will be cleaned before distribution.
