Bartlett police arrest pair on drugs, weapon charges

A man and woman were arrested after 11 pounds of marijuana and a handgun were discovered at their Bartlett home, authorities said.

Paul D. Henry, 34, and Shirley J. Crite, 35, both of 1339 Vernon Lane, were arrested at 3 p.m. Monday at their home, Bartlett police said.

Henry was charged with felony unlawful delivery of cannabis, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and resisting arrest, police said. Crite was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm without a gun owner's ID card, police said.

Bartlett police, aided by the DuPage County Metropolitan Enforcement Group, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and a canine unit from Wood Dale police, found various items of drug paraphernalia, a .38-caliber handgun and the marijuana inside the home, police said.

Those agencies entered using a search warrant, police said. Henry and Crite were taken to DuPage County Jail in Wheaton. Henry is being held on a $300,000 bond and has a Nov. 18 court date, while Crite is being held on a $25,000 bond and has a Nov. 10 court date.
