Wheaton cops search for man who approached teen

Wheaton police are searching for a man who approached a young teen on Oct. 16 and told her to get into his car.

The 14-year-old girl noticed a sedan following her around 4:15 p.m. as she rode her bicycle home from Northside Park, near the area of Main Street and Parkway Drive, according to a report from the Wheaton Police Department.

As she changed directions twice, the lone male driver continued to follow her, eventually calling her to get into his car. The young girl continued to ride away and arrived safely home.

Police describe the male suspect is described being 20 to 25 years old with a heavy accent, a goatee and an unknown tattoo on his right bicep. He was wearing a sleeveless white T-shirt. Police say he was driving a black, four-door, small sedan.
