Here's letting off some fantasy steam that's been building

Time for a little fantasy football rant because I have had it with this season.

I've had it with LenDale White vulturing touchdowns from Chris Johnson in Tennessee.

I've had it with Torry Holt thinking he's now Mark Bradley.

I've had it with Brad Johnson missing wide-open receivers and turning Terrell Owens into - Mark Bradley.

I've had it with Larry Johnson deciding he'd rather abuse women than focus on playing football.

I've had it with teams messing around all week with injury statuses making us pull our hair out. Tony Romo's in, he's out, he's maybe in; Steven Jackson's fine, well maybe not, he's questionable, no, now it's not looking so good; Willie Parker's getting better, but he's still hurting, he may play, he may not.

I've had it with Plaxico Burress and his inability to comply with team rules, thus creating the monster headache of last week when we heard that, "He won't play, he may play, he may miss a series - or two, or three -" Help!

I've had it with Maurice Jones-Drew and his 7- and 29-yard games mixed in with his 2-TD, 125-yard games.

And I've had it with all of the tight ends not named Gates, Witten or Gonzalez. It's time to send out missing persons reports on Chris Cooley, Jeremy Shockey, Vernon Davis, Kellen Winslow and Heath Miller. Call me when you've found them.

There, I feel better now.

Trade time: I know I've given this advice before, but it bears repeating, especially after some of the crazy trades I've heard about lately. When you are unloading a marquee player, make sure the entire league knows about it.

In the Daily Herald league, which I'm not in, here are two of the recent trades I'm talking about: Philip Rivers for Hines Ward, and LaDainian Tomlinson for Terrell Owens.

Rivers for Ward? LT for Owens?

Rivers is a top-three QB and should be able to land an owner a better receiver than Ward (31-406-5). And I don't care what kind of season LT is having, you don't trade him for a receiver with no quarterback. LT, who looked much better last week, has the Chiefs twice, the Raiders and the Colts on the upcoming schedule. Mark my words: The team that landed him has an excellent chance to reach the title game.

My teams: Speaking of trades, I threw in the towel in my unit league (3-5) after losing 50-31. I traded Clinton Portis and Plaxico Burress (both unkeepable) for Roddy White (8 units and keepable) and 20 units. You should have seen the bidding wars - they were insane. Letting the entire league know what was going on and giving them specifics on what I was being offered led to a monster deal for me in the long term. In my regular league (4-4), I won 103-94.

Good bets

• Bears QB Kyle Orton and TE Greg Olsen vs. Detroit. Orton's a no-brainer, and Olsen (16-237-2 last four) should be too.

• Jaguars' RB Maurice Jones-Drew at Cincinnati. This week, we should expect the BOOM out of MJD and not the BUST.

• Cleveland defense vs. Baltimore. Believe it or not, the Browns rank seventh among defenses since Week 4, and they have a juicy matchup against the offensively challenged Ravens.

• Bucs RB Earnest Graham and WR Joey Galloway at Kansas City. The Chiefs have allowed 14 rushing scores this season. As for Galloway, let's call it a gut feeling.

• Rams QB Marc Bulger vs. Arizona. With the sudden emergence of rookie WR Donnie Avery, Bulger has become fantasy-relevant again. Against a Cards defense that's allowed multiple passing TDs in four of the last five weeks, watch for a big game.

• Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown at Denver. Wow, is the Broncos' run defense bad. As in putrid.

• Falcons RB Michael Turner at Oakland. Over the last five games, feature backs have averaged 113 yards per game against the Raiders.

Bad bets

• Jets WR Jerricho Cotchery at Buffalo. Cotchery has never scored against the Bills.

• Vikings defense vs. Houston. The Texans are just too hot right now, and Matt Schaub may throw for 400 yards in the Metrodome.

• Packers RB Ryan Grant and QB Aaron Rodgers at Tennessee. The Titans have allowed a rushing TD in six straight games, but they are only giving up 90 yards a game on the ground. As for Rodgers, he will be extremely fortunate to throw 2 TD passes.

• Cowboys WRs Terrell Owens and Roy Williams at New York Giants. In case you missed last week's column, I thought I'd put these two in the bad bets once again.

• Patriots RBs BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Kevin Faulk at Indianapolis. On paper, this looks like a good matchup for running backs, but I don't trust these two right now.

• Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger and WR Santonio Holmes at Washington. The Redskins have allowed just 2 passing touchdowns the last four games.
