Was Jesus change that wasn't needed?

So, according to the letter by David Caldarola (Fence Post, Tuesday), I'm an atheist because I'm a liberal. Let me ask you this, Mr. Caldarola. Would Jesus waterboard a terrorist? Did Jesus tell us that the rich holding on to their wealth would be their path to God? Jesus, like me, more than likely wouldn't stand for abortion, but do you think he would be absolutely heartless toward the pregnant mothers? Did Jesus have a political party? In many ways, Mr. Calderola, in many ways you could say Christ was a liberal. He made a whole lot of conservative Jewish leaders resent him because what he said wasn't what they wanted to hear, but I doubt you would say it wasn't change we needed.
