Pregnant woman attacked in Schaumburg

Schaumburg police don't know the motive behind the alleged attack on a pregnant 20-year-old by two women from out of town.

Pamela D. Gibson, 22, of 1244 W. 72nd Place, Chicago, and Brittney T. Campbell, 20, of 14507 Karlove, Midlothian, were charged with aggravated battery in connection with the attack in an apartment stairwell on the 300 block of South Roselle Road, around 4 p.m. Oct. 21.

Police say the victim was hit in the face and abdomen and a liquid was sprayed on her face and down her throat. Police Sgt. John Nebl said the woman said the liquid smelled like ammonia, but apart from some reddening of her eyes, she appeared to have no further injury.

Officers found the two women on South Roselle Road; they have a Nov. 20 court date.
