Briefs: Tollway ramps opening, closing at Route 31

The westbound ramps on Interstate 90 at Route 31 are scheduled to reopen overnight Monday, Oct. 13. And at 8 p.m. Monday the entrance ramp from southbound Route 31 to eastbound I-90 and the eastbound exit ramp to northbound Route 31 are scheduled to close for bridge repair work on I-90 over Route 31. The eastbound ramps were closed in late September for bridge repair work. The eastbound rams will close for bridge deck pavement repair work. Both ramps will close for approximately three weeks and detours will be posted. Eastbound tollway traffic will be shifted to the left shoulder and two left-most lanes to accommodate the bridge work while keeping three main lanes open. Senior art show today, Sunday

Artists from the Dundee Township Park District Senior Center will host their annual Senior Art Show from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 and Sunday Oct. 12 at the senior center, 665 Barrington Ave, Carpentersville. Admission is free. More than 100 pieces of art will be on display and many are available for purchase. Artists will also be on hand to discuss their work and the center's art program. An oil painting by local artist Bob Larsen will be raffled during the two-day event. Proceeds will benefit the Dundee Township Park District Senior Center.

Centegra offer flu shots

With the flu season approaching, Centegra Health System is providing $25 flu vaccinations at its immediate care centers. The centers are at 10350 Haligus Road, Huntley, and 360 Station Drive, Crystal Lake. The offices are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
