Des Plaines

• An estimated $18,000 in jewelry, electronics and cash was stolen from a home on the 2500 block of Emerson Street on Sept. 24 by burglars who apparently climbed into the house through an unlocked kitchen window. Police said the intruders entered the house between 6 a.m. and 3:50 p.m. and cleaned out the house. However, a witness told police he or she saw two teenagers drop a bunch goods on the bank at Good Lake, which led police to recover most of the stolen items - the items that remained missing are a $3,500 diamond ring and $2,500 in cash.

• A 2007 Volvo semitractor in a lot on the 300 block of West Touhy Avenue was burglarized between noon Sept. 20 and 9 a.m. Sept. 22; various tools, a GPS unit and other items totaling about $1,241 were stolen.

Mount Prospect

• A boys' blue bicycle with red letters was stolen from outside Holmes Junior High School, 1900 W. Lonnquist Blvd., between 7:45 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Sept. 24. The bike, valued at about $205, had been locked in a rack.

• A 2000 Honda Odyssey in an apartment lot on the 1700 block of Sable was broken into overnight Sept. 24-25; a GPS unit and MP3 player were stolen. Damage and value were estimated at $850.

• An unlocked boys' gray bicycle with red letters and silver pegs was stolen from outside the gym at St. Raymond Catholic School, 300 S. Elmhurst Road, between 3:10 and 4 p.m. Sept. 25. The bike was valued at about $220.

• A green 21-speed bike worth about $400 was taken out of an open garage on the 1200 block of West Lincoln Street between 7 and 8 p.m. Sept. 23.

• A 2005 Toyota Sienna in an apartment lot on the 1400 block of South Busse Road was broken into overnight Sept. 23-24 and a GPS unit stolen. The theft and damage to the vehicle was estimated at $750.

Rolling Meadows

• Maurice D. Fort, 36, 4706 Arbor Drive, Apt. 102, Rolling Meadows, was arrested around 12:05 a.m. Sept. 17 and charged with criminal trespass after a witness saw him climb the fence to the locked apartment pool area and enter the ladies washroom. His court date is Oct. 22.

• A bronze duck statue, value unknown, was stolen Sept. 23 from Kimball Hill Park, 3200 Campbell St.

• A 2007 Toyota Solara in a store lot on the 1400 block of Golf Road was vandalized between 5 and 5:20 p.m. Sept. 24; damage was estimated at $300.

Wheeling

• A boys' blue, black and silver bicycle worth about $150 was stolen from a hallway inside an apartment building on the 200 block of Eighth Street between 8 a.m. and 5:12 p.m. Sept. 24.

• William L. Dannen, 28, 3033 Blackthorn Road, Riverwoods, was arrested around 10:15 p.m. Sept. 23 and charged with possession of marijuana after a traffic stop at Wolf Road and Milwaukee Avenue. His court date is Oct. 30.

• A $1,200 police bicycle belonging to the Wheeling Park District was stolen around 4 p.m. Sept. 24 from the warehouse at 222 S. Wolf Road.

• Two unlocked vehicles in a driveway on the 1100 block of Honeysuckle Drive were burglarized overnight Sept. 24-25. A cell phone/speaker system and wallet were taken out of a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe; and a stereo faceplate and car keys were taken out of a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban. The total loss was estimated at $1,500.
