Mark your calendars for Fall Festival

Carve some time out of your Saturday, Oct. 25, to attend the Mount Prospect Downtown Merchants Association's fourth annual Fall Festival from 1 to 4 p.m., followed by an Oktoberfest celebration from 4 to 9 p.m., all centered around Emerson Street and Busse Avenue.

"Last year the Fall Festival was a huge success," said Tom Nelson, president of the MPDMA. "Over 700 people came to downtown Mount Prospect to participate in this lively event."

"This year we expect an even greater turnout by adding an Oktoberfest celebration from 4 to 9 p.m. The Oktoberfest will have live music, German food, German beer, German wine and more," he added.

During the afternoon trick-or-treaters and their parents are invited to celebrate the holiday in a safe and fun way calling on local businesses. Activities will include a performance by Macaroni Soup, the River Trails Middle School Bucket Band and several dance companies. Scottie the Parrot will also be roving the festival.

Children can also enjoy pumpkin painting, a moon bouncer, crafts, tractor hay rides and pony rides.

So plan a fun afternoon and evening in downtown Mount Prospect.
