Mount Prospect victim attacked, robbed

A 23-year-old man reported he was attacked and robbed Sunday night in an apartment building parking lot on the 1700 block of Mansard Lane in Mount Prospect, police said Monday. A police report said eight to 10 men attacked the man and chased his 41-year-old male roommate around 9:05 p.m. Sunday. The offenders grabbed the man's 14-karat gold rope chain with an anchor-style crucifix from his neck and stole $300 out of his pocket after punching and kicking him, the report said. The man refused medical treatment. Other men chased the roommate and swung at him with a baseball bat, but he ducked and ran into an apartment building, the report said. The total value loss was estimated at $500, the report said.
