Lawmakers work for us, doing bad job

My dad died when I was 13 years old. I got my first job 2 weeks later and have worked ever since. I am now 65 and semiretired. My aim for all those years was to insure a secure life for myself, my wife and family. I have voted in every election since I was eligible to vote. As I understood the process the electoral process was to hire individuals to work for us, the electorate, to oversee and govern.

In this economic crisis your immediate job, as I see it, is to stop the politics of re-election and in a bipartisan effort work for your employers, us, and help all of us (emphasis added) to preserve our savings, our investments, our homes, in short the way of life we have all worked so hard to create.

In my opinion you have failed miserably. After the failure to enact a "bailout program" instead of hearing a clear "OK this failed, now we are going to try to readdress the issue," all I heard clearly was it's the Democrats' fault, it's the Republicans' fault. While I agree there is plenty of blame to share, that is not the important point right now. In little league terms you have "taken your eye off the ball." I beseech you to get to work and help your employers.
