Sketch released of suspect in Warrenville abduction attempt

Warrenville police have released a sketch of a man they believe attempted to abduct a 12-year-old girl.

Police said they are investigating different leads, but are still hunting for the man responsible for chasing after the girl who was riding her bicycle at 3:30 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Branch Avenue and Continental Drive.

The man was last seen driving away in a rusty blue or green car with mismatched wheels, the girl told police.

The suspect was described as standing at about 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a thin build, wearing a white T-shirt and black sunglasses and sporting a goatee.

The man tried to lure the girl into his car, but got out and gave chase when the girl refused, police said. The girl was able to escape the suspect and ride away.
