Waubonsee Community College celebrates Make a Difference Day
Now in its 18th year, Make a Difference Day began with a simple idea - put your own cares on hold for one day to care for someone else. This year, as part of Make a Difference Day, the nation's largest single day of volunteering, the Adult Literacy Project at Waubonsee Community College will make a difference with the Aurora Public Library and North Aurora's Messenger Public Library as its partners.
On Saturday, Oct. 25, volunteers will lead a Conversation Cafe that will give new English speakers an opportunity to participate in conversation groups discussing topics of interest.
Volunteers from Waubonsee's Adult Literacy Project will lead the Conversation Café from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the college's Aurora campus, 5 E. Galena Blvd., in Rooms 133-134.
While parents are attending the Conversation Cafe, age 3 to 9, are invited to participate in storytelling and other activities.
Registration is recommended; please call (630) 801-7900, ext. 4181 and leave your name, phone number and ages of children attending, or sign up in Room 201 at Waubonsee's Aurora campus.
