Deputy hurt in Schaumburg crash

A Cook County sheriff's deputy was injured in a crash Wednesday near Schaumburg.

Rolling Meadows firefighters responded to a two-car crash on Algonquin Road and Thorntree Drive about 4:40 p.m. One of the vehicles was a police car.

Air bags in both cars deployed. The male officer was taken to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights with non- life-threatening injuries. The other driver apparently was not seriously injured.

No details were available from police.
