One final trip, and ... goodbye
On a nasty winter day about 15 years ago, I took my toddler to Randhurst Mall just for something to do. We spent quite a bit of time joy-riding on the glass elevator. He pressed his nose to the glass and watched the first floor recede and then return.
Shoppers getting on the elevator would pause to let us off, but I told them, "No, we're just riding." Then they would smile those smiles that strangers give to little kids who are doing really cute things.
I visited Randhurst last month and rode that elevator one more time, just to remember. Goodbye.
