Reward offered as armed robber strikes Schaumburg again

On the heels of the seventh strike of a serial armed robber in Schaumburg, Cook County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

The robber, armed as usual with a pistol and wearing a mask, hit a business on the 1100 block of South Springinsguth Road at 3:51 p.m. Thursday. Police said it was the same business as his fourth robbery at 3:41 p.m. Aug. 18.

The robber is described as 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160 pounds with a medium build, black hair and brown eyes.

His routine is to enter the store, demand cash from the clerk and flee on foot before entering a vehicle or using a bicycle.

In addition to cash, he has also taken cigarettes and on the last robbery a DVD.
