Briefs: Teen pleads innocent

Ryne D. McGovern pleaded innocent Monday when arraigned on charges he repeatedly stabbed another teen during a party near Lisle. McGovern, 17, faces up to 60 years in prison if convicted of attempted murder, home invasion, armed violence, aggravated battery and residential burglary. His attorney, Brian Telander, said a mental-health expert who examined McGovern has found him temporarily unfit to stand trial. Prosecutors have requested a second opinion. McGovern is accused of stabbing Robert McGrath, 19, early Aug. 10 during a party on Queens Cove near Lisle while the victim slept. McGrath survived his injuries.
