Bolingbrook school nurse charged with sex abuse

Officials say a Bolingbrook elementary school nurse has been charged with sexually abusing three teenage boys.

Forty-nine-year-old Laura Obzera is charged with three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Police say she's a health assistant at Wood View Elementary School in Bolingbrook.

Commander Tom Ross says Obzera apparently didn't meet the boys, aged 13 to 17, through her job. He says there's no indication the alleged abuse occurred on school property.

Officials say Bolingbrook police joined a Department of Children and Family Services inquiry into sexually charged text messages between a woman and teenage boys.

Obzera was released Thursday on $50,000 bail. It's not clear if she has an attorney and no one answered the telephone at a Bolingbrook number.

According to school officials, she has been an employee of the Valley View School District since 2001.

Valley View School District officials learned of the allegations on Sept. 8 and placed her on administrative leave, according to a statement from the district. Officials also confirm the alleged incidents did not occur on school property nor involved any student at Wood View.
