Teachers, make your Harvest Days reservations now

Teachers are reminded to reserve now for their classes to attend Harvest Days at Garfield Farm Museum from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3. Since the founding of Harvest Days in 1982, the museum volunteers have committed to providing a Friday that regional school children could attend.

Harvest Days gives a look at life on an Illinois prairie farm in the 1840s at this National Register Historic Site. Historic household and farm skills are demonstrated reflecting mid-19th century life to help students and adults better understand the heritage of the United States. Music and tall tales by Reid Miller will also be featured. School rates are $4 for students under 13 and $5 for adults.

The public is invited to attend from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5 with a $6 donation for adults and $3 for children with their parents.

Individuals who would like to volunteer should contact the museum at (630) 584-8485 or e-mail info@garfieldfarm.org.
