Guilty plea in Schaumburg DUI death
For the aggravated DUI that killed her friend, 24-year-old Karie M. Ebbole could spend 3 to 14 years in prison.
Or she could get probation.
Schaumburg police charged the Streamwood resident with reckless homicide and aggravated DUI following January's alcohol-related crash on Braintree Drive in which Schaumburg resident Michael Q. Bell, 26, was killed. Authorities say Ebbole's blood-alcohol content measured 0.17 percent, more than twice the legal limit.
In the Rolling Meadows courthouse Wednesday, Ebbole pleaded guilty to one of the counts. A representative from the state's attorney's office reached late Wednesday did not know to which of the counts Ebbole pleaded. She will be sentenced Oct. 28.
