Fall Family Fest: Celebrate the beginning of the fall season at Cary Park District's Fall Family Fest. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13 at Lions Park.
Visitors can enjoy hayrides, pony rides, a petting zoo, crafts, a pumpkin patch, and more. Walgreens in Cary will be on-site running a "Capture a Memory" photo station. Visitors can have their pictures taken against the seasonal backdrop and will have the opportunity to receive one complimentary picture.
This event also is sponsored by Character Counts, Home State Bank, and Walgreens.
Admission to the event is $8 for children 3 years and older, $4 for children ages 1-2, and is free for adults and children under age 1.

For youth
Mini Monets: Enjoy creative time with your toddler. Glue, paint, draw, and color a variety of projects. Shaving cream and playdough will be used as learning tools. Finger plays and songs will end each program. Dress for a mess. This class is for children ages 2- and 3-years-old and a participating parent and meets from 3 to 3:45 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 10-Oct. 15 at the Community Center. Registration is $35 for residents and $53 for nonresidents.
Gym Kids: Does your child need to release some of that extra energy? Come inside where we play structured games and activities that will enhance listening skills, provide an opportunity to explore the world, and help your child gain independence. This class is for children ages 3 to 5 and meets on from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 9-Oct. 14 at the Community Center. Registration is $35 for residents and $53 for nonresidents.
Drawing and Painting: Calling all artists who are eager to try an assortment of materials. Pastels, watercolors, drawing pencils and markers are some of the tools that will be used as we learn basic techniques. Explore your creative side, learn new techniques and have fun. This class is for children ages 5 and 6 years and meets from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 10-Oct. 15 at the Community Center. Registration is $34 for residents and $51 for nonresidents.
