McHenry man sent to jail for touching girl
A McHenry man was sentenced to six months in the McHenry County jail Wednesday after admitting guilt to allegations he inappropriately touched a teenage girl.
Kenneth P. O'Connell, 41, also must pay a $1,500 fine, serve two years probation, donate $100 to the McHenry County Child Advocacy Center and perform 200 hours of public service under a plea deal struck with county prosecutors.
O'Connell pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of criminal sexual abuse claiming he touched the 14-year-old victim's in August 2007.
As part of the deal, prosecutors dismissed a felony charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse stemming from the same incident.
O'Connell, who could be free in three months based on possible good-time credit, also was ordered not to have any contact with the victim and stay away from her residence.
