The real meaning of 'pro-life' is love
Pro-life means opposing war, promoting diplomacy, and peace through justice.
Pro-life means upholding the Geneva Convention and not resorting to torture of prisoners which at best yields dubious intelligence.
Pro-life means opposing the death penalty.
Pro-life means providing good health care for all - especially for the poverty stricken, children, the aged.
Pro-life means paying a living wage to all working men and women - the essential, needful, and just distribution of profits. Eliminating poverty.
Pro-life means providing safety and protection - supporting infrastructure: police, firemen, public works, roads, reliable bridges, transportation. (Yes, this means taxes for those who cannot provide this for themselves as individuals.)
Pro-life means providing a good education for all citizens.
Pro-life means promoting the loving ecological care of our environment - care for our mother earth that nourishes us and ought be cherished by us in return.
Pro-life means making it easier for expectant mothers to keep, nourish, care for and educate - fully love - their babies.
Pro-life means promoting the political parties and candidates that espouse all of these ideals, that espouse the teachings of Jesus in Matthew 25, the Corporal Works of Mercy embodying the principles of the Spiritual Works of Mercy, and the Sermon on the Mount.
Call it a welfare state, if you will, but policies promoting only individual profit and greed, not providing for the common good will not bring about the reign of God on earth.
God's covenant with man is one of loving kindness and forgiveness.
Christian freedom should promote life in peace and harmony among all people.
Now who is pro-life?
Obama is pregnant with hope for the future. Assist the birth. Let him be delivered of it.
