Kane County Forest Preserve District

Several forest preserve parking lots will temporarily close for regularly scheduled maintenance, Sept. 22 to Oct. 2.

The lots will be sealcoated and striped as part of the Kane County Forest Preserve District's ongoing preventative maintenance program. Sealcoating prolongs the life of the lots by making them more resistant to weather and chemicals. Parking lots will be closed as follows:

• Jon J. Duerr Forest Preserve (the River Bend Trail lot), South Elgin: Monday, Sept. 22.

• Tyler Creek Forest Preserve, Elgin: Monday, Sept. 22.

• Oakhurst Forest Preserve, Aurora: Monday, Sept. 29.

• Elburn Forest Preserve, Elburn: Tuesday, Sept. 30.

• Johnson's Mound Forest Preserve, Elburn: Tuesday, Sept. 30.

• LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, St. Charles: Wednesday, Oct. 1.

• Fabyan Forest Preserve, Geneva: Thursday, Oct. 2.

• Les Arends Forest Preserve, Batavia: Thursday, Oct. 2.

Signs will be posted at entrances to alert the public that sealcoating work will take place and access will be restricted. Work is expected to take roughly one day per preserve. Please be aware that dates may vary slightly due to weather conditions. If you have any questions, call the district at (630) 232-5980.
