Finance mess due to Reagan economics
President Reagan, wherever he is, may not be rejoicing now that his "trickle down economic plan" has finally had its impact on America.
After 28 years since his inauguration, with the mechanics still in place and plump, well-fed chickens in his coop just ready for the plucking for the family table, Mr. Reagan's intent to revitalize this country's economic system has run afowl.
Repeating the often used phrase that originated with Republican administrations in the 1920s of "a chicken in every pot," all such administrations since the '80s have not only confiscated the pot, crept into the hen house and stolen all the hens, but collected all the eggs as well.
Since then, they've not only fattened themselves up with morning omelets and afternoon chicken pot pies but used their plumes to opulently feather their nests.
So Mr. Reagan, wherever you are, I hope you are enjoying your Sunday fried chicken dinner as the conservative remnants of your failed economic trickle-down policies eat a hurriedly prepared dish of crow.
