Arlington Heights
• A 2003 Honda Pilot on the 1300 block of North Douglas Avenue was broken into between 8:30 a.m. and 1:35 p.m. Sept. 4 and a GPS unit stolen. A loss estimate was not available.
• An unlocked 1997 Ford Explorer on the 4200 block of Pheasant Trail Court was burglarized between 12:45 and 8:30 a.m. Sept. 4; a GPS unit and phone charger worth $340 were stolen.
• A 2004 Buick Lesabre at a retirement village on the 800 block of West Oakton Street was broken into between midnight and 3 a.m. Sept. 5; a GPS unit and cord were stolen. A damage and loss estimate was not available.
• A 2007 Hyundai Tiburon on the 2200 block of Amhurst Court was broken into between 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sept. 5; a radar detector was stolen. The damage and detector was estimated at $300.
• A 2005 Suzuki Forenza in an apartment lot on the 200 block of North Salem Avenue was broken into between 10:30 a.m. Sept. 6 and 2:28 a.m. Sept. 7; a temperature gauge and two MP3 players with power cords and cassette adapters were stolen. The damage and theft was estimated at $425.
• A 1992 Toyota Corolla in a condominium lot on the 1600 block of East Central Road was broken into between 3 p.m. Sept. 6 and 5 p.m. Sept. 7; nothing appeared missing. A damage estimate was not available.
• Burglars ransacked a 1996 Jeep Cherokee in a condominium lot on the 300 block of West Miner Street overnight Sept. 6-7 and stole a cloth bag containing shoes and a shirt. The theft was estimated at $50.
• A 1996 Chevrolet Lumina in an apartment lot on the 2100 block of South Goebbert Road was broken into between midnight and 6 a.m. Sept. 7; a GPS unit was stolen. The damage and unit were estimated at $400.
• A 2002 Honda minivan on the 900 block of North Kaspar Avenue was broken into overnight Sept. 4-5 and a purse, two bags, a cell phone and cooking utensils were stolen. The damage and theft was estimated at $380.
• Someone stole the stereo faceplate out of a 1996 Toyota Camry in a lot on the 500 block of West Euclid Avenue between 3:30 p.m. Sept. 6 and noon Sept. 7. There was no sign of forced entry; the faceplate was valued at about $250.
• A 2003 Toyota 4Runner on the 1300 block of South Old Wilke Road was broken into overnight Sept. 5-6; a portable DVD player was taken. The damage and theft was estimated at $250.
• A vacant house for sale on the 1100 block of South Haddow Avenue was broken into between 2 and 4 p.m. Sept. 4; nothing appeared missing and a damage estimate was not available.
• A storage locker at Public Storage, 903 E. Algonquin Road, was broken into between Aug. 3 and 29; a set of women's golf clubs worth about $1,500 was stolen plus a VCR/DVD player of unknown value.
Des Plaines
• An unlocked 2005 Lincoln Navigator on the 600 block of East Lincoln Avenue was burglarized around 4:50 p.m. Sept. 8; stolen was a designer purse and wallet, calculator, cosmetic case, checkbook, two cell phones/hand-held computers, designer sunglasses, IDs and a notary commission stamp, all worth about $7,065. The owner said she left the vehicle only about 10 minutes.
• Michael A. Hunyady, 25, 923 Hollywood Ave., Des Plaines, was arrested around 6:05 p.m. Sept. 8 on the 1600 block of Spruce Avenue and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. His court date is Oct. 6.
• Antonio Silva-Justo, 18, 110 George St., Apt. 320, Bensenville, was arrested around 11:55 p.m. Sept. 7 on the 800 block of South Elmhurst Road and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. His court date is Sept. 25.
Elk Grove Village
• A 2007 Kawasaki ZX motorcycle worth about $7,000 was stolen between 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Sept. 1 from the 1300 block of Jarvis Avenue.
• A 2007 Ford Mustang GT on the 600 block of Schooner Lane was broken into between 7:45 p.m. Sept. 1 and 6 a.m. Sept. 2; a radar detector was stolen. The damage and detector were valued at $500.
• One vehicle was broken into and another was burglarized on the 700 block of Cutter Lane between 7 p.m. Sept. 1 and 6:40 a.m. Sept. 2. A 2008 Toyota RAV4 was broken into and an MP3 player stolen; the damage and the player were estimated together at $450. Also, a partially open window on a 1995 Chrysler New Yorker was pulled down; tools, a radar detector and an in-dash radio were stolen. The loss was estimated at $1,200.
• Two men stole a $350 case of liquor from Jewel-Osco, 20 Biesterfield Road, around 8:55 p.m. Sept. 1.
• A trailer on the 21100 block of Touhy Avenue was broken into and $29,800 worth of racing car tools was stolen, between 10:30 p.m. Aug. 31 and 3:30 p.m. Sept. 2.
• A BMX bike worth about $430 was stolen from the 0-100 block of Biesterfield Road between 4:30 and 4:45 p.m. Sept. 3.
• A black mountain bike worth about $339 was stolen out of an open garage on the 1200 block of Carswell between 8 p.m. Sept. 2 and 6 p.m. Sept. 3.
• Barry W. Bryne, 47, 914 13th St., LaCrosse, Wis., was arrested around 6:30 a.m. Sept. 2 on the 900 block of Wellington Avenue and charged with possession of marijuana. His court date is Sept. 22.
• A $450 mountain bike was stolen from a yard on the 800 block of Sara Court between 8 p.m. Sept. 5 and 10 a.m. Sept. 6.
• A 2008 Ducati motorcycle worth about $16,000 was stolen from the 900 block of Ridge Square overnight Sept. 6-7.
Mount Prospect
• A home on the 1900 block of West Golf Road was broken into between 5:45 and 10:30 p.m. Sept. 6; an estimated $7,600 in money, English gold coins and jewelry was taken. The burglar broke a sliding door lock to get inside.
• A 2004 Saturn Vue was broken into in a company parking lot on the 1800 block of West Central Road around 1:05 p.m. Sept. 8. A witness saw a man, who was a passenger in a white van, reach through the Vue's smashed driver's-side window and steal the GPS unit mounted on the dashboard. The damage and theft were estimated at $600.
