W. Chicago police seeking sexual assault suspect
West Chicago police Thursday released a sketch of a man they said is responsible for a sexual assault earlier in the week.
Police were called to a residence in the 700 block of Pine Street about 11:15 p.m. Sunday regarding the assault and worked with the victim to produce a computer-generated composite of the suspect.
The man entered the residence about 10:30 p.m. and officers are not yet sure how because there were several possibilities, West Chicago Deputy Police Chief Laz Perez said. The victim was home alone at the time, he said.
The man is approximately 35 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and has a medium to slightly muscular build, curly hair and a considerable "five-o'clock shadow," police said.
Authorities are encouraging anyone who encounters the man to call 911 or (630) 293-2222. They are reminding residents to lock their doors, leave adequate exterior lighting on after dusk and call 911 if they see any suspicious activity in their neighborhood.
