New video touts Fox River Valley
Potential visitors from all over the country, and world for that matter, can now see a preview of the great things to see and do in Chicagoland's Northern Fox River Valley.
Brent Edwards, Director of Marketing for the Elgin Area Convention and Visitors Bureau has armed himself with a digital camera, tri-pod, and microphone to interview partners of the EACVB and give the viewers a taste and flavor of the Fox River Valley and all it has to offer.
"Viewers want to see firsthand what there is to do in the region they are about to visit, these videos give them a personal tour of attractions, accommodations, shopping venues, dining options and more." Edwards said. "The videos are light and fun but also extremely educational and interesting."
Edwards attended an educational conference in January of 2008 where the major discussion was related to the next phase of the internet. "Video, video, video, was the overwhelming subject of the conference and it being the leader of the new social networking onslaught," he said. "I wanted our bureau to stay ahead of the curve so we are moving forward by adding these videos to our already award winning Web site."
You can find the first three installments of the many videos to come at www.northernfoxrivervalley.com. The EACVB also uploads the videos to YouTube.com for further exposure and promotion of their partners.
The videos already online feature the Frank Lloyd Wright designed and built Muirhead Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast in Hampshire; The Elgin Public Museum and Lords Park Zoo located in Elgin; and the Hemmens Cultural Center in downtown Elgin. A video featuring the Illinois Railway Museum in Union has already been uploaded to YouTube.com and will be making its way the www.northernfoxrivervalley.com very soon.
Updating the videos will be done on a quarterly basis so visit the Web site often to view the latest video series.
