Expect the change will be higher taxes

As I listen to the candidates debate their ideas, I become more confused.

I am tired of hearing one candidate accuse the other of politics as usual. The other is accused of using the race card. They banter back and forth about the war.

Neither candidate has offered concrete meaningful ideas. That is politics as usual, otherwise known as confusion.

Our economy is withering and Americans see that and are cutting back. Many economists have stated that with the economy in a weakened state, adding more taxes would destroy the American economic way of life.

Obama endorses economic justice. What the heck is that?

Since he is a Democrat, it appears economic justice is the old income equalization. That means he wants to take from the rich and give to the poor. He glosses over middle-income earners who have become the working poor.

Obama is following the party line, which is no drilling, Hillary's health care for all, increase capital gains tax, which includes interest income on stocks, bonds and probably savings accounts. Taxing kills economic growth, but he wants a windfall profits tax on the oil companies.

He intends to spend more on Social Security, exotic renewable fuels, to retool the auto industry and repair the infrastructure.

These ideas may sound great but will cost billions in new money. Where is that going to come from?

He says taxing the rich with incomes of $200,000 to 250,000 and higher plus raising the tax percentage rate on the wealthiest 1 percent.

That doesn't seem to affect middle income Americans but it will. Everything we purchase will come with a higher price tag.

Obama is not a maverick. He's a follower of the Democratic Party that walked out of Congress for their unearned vacation.

I'm afraid that the change we can believe is more taxation and more spending on pet projects.
