Teenager collapses during soccer practice, dies

Police say a 17-year-old girl has died after suffering a cardiac arrest during soccer practice.

Jennifer Snyder of Northbrook was at a Glenview soccer field Thursday evening when she collapsed. She was practicing with Glenbrook United, a private soccer organization.

Glenview police commander Phillip Perlini says officers found Snyder in cardiac arrest. The Cook County medical examiner's office says she was pronounced dead around 9 p.m. at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview.

She was a senior at Glenbrook North High School. School officials say they weren't aware of any previous health issues.
