Lisle man in custody accused of 12-year-old sex crime

After spending 5 years in a Georgia prison for a drug conviction, a former Lisle resident could be facing more time behind bars in Illinois.

Lisle police arrested 37-year-old Martiniano Montes-Deoca Thursday after he was extradited from Georgia following his release after serving nearly half of his 10-year sentence for methamphetamine trafficking. He is wanted in Lisle for an October 1996 sexual assault, Lisle Sgt. Ron Wilke said Saturday.

Montes-Deoca fled Illinois shortly after posting a $15,000 bond a few days after he was first arrested. Lisle police were notified of the fugitive's capture in Georgia in 2003. Investigators were unable to track down his victim then, so the case was halted while he served his drug sentence. With his release pending in June, Lisle investigators went looking for the victim again and located her this time. Wilke said she agreed to testify against him and local authorities sought his extradition.

He was released to U.S. Immigration and Custom's Enforcement custody June 18 while the extradition proceedings played out. Authorities said he would have been deported had he not been wanted in Illinois.

Lisle police took custody of Montes-Deoca Thursday. He is at the DuPage County jail in Wheaton awaiting a bond hearing. Montes-Deoca could face more charges for skipping town 12 years ago, authorities said. The sexual assault charges are felony counts that carry a penalty of between 4 to 15 years in prison.

Wilke said Montes-Deoca is accused of assaulting his live-in girlfriend's pregnant younger sister when they were home alone. Montes-Deoca told authorities it was consensual, but the victim told investigators she was threatened, Wilke said.
