Mount Prospect
• Susan M. Tompkins, 40, 126 Hill St., Mount Prospect, was arrested around 2 p.m. Aug. 11 and charged with retail theft from Carson Pirie Scott, 999 N. Elmhurst Road. Her court date is Sept. 25.
• Thieves stole a 1990 Honda ATV from the roof of Indian Grove School, 1340 Burning Bush Lane, where it was being used to move roofing materials around. The theft occurred between July 11 and Aug. 11. The ATV was worth about $3,500 and belonged to Tecta America of Aurora.
• A 2006 Jeep Liberty in an apartment lot on the 1900 block of West Golf Road was burglarized Aug. 7-9. Stolen were a cell phone charger, MP3 radio transmitter, tire pressure gauge, 10 CDs and three pairs of sunglasses, altogether worth about $200.
Des Plaines
• A 2005 Chevrolet Suburban on the 1800 block of Big Bend Drive was burglarized Aug. 7-10; stolen were sunglasses, five store cards and two garage door remotes altogether worth about $700.
• The neon sign at the McDonald's Museum, 400 Lee St., was vandalized between 6 p.m. Aug. 9 and 5 a.m. Aug. 11. Damage was estimated at $200.
Arlington Heights
• Jesus J. Coronado, 30, 319 E. Seegers Road, Apt. 210, Arlington Heights, was arrested around 11:05 p.m. Aug. 10 and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting a peace officer. His court date is Sept. 2.
• Someone tried to pull the faceplate off a vending machine bill changer at Pioneer Park pool, 500 S. Fernandez Ave., between 8 p.m. Aug. 9 and 7 p.m. Aug. 10. A damage estimate was not available.
• The northeast wall on the fifth floor of the village's parking garage, 22 S. Vail Ave., was vandalized with spray paint on an unknown date but reported Aug. 11. A damage estimate was not available.
• A 2007 Hyundai Elantra on the 500 block of South Kennicott was vandalized around 1:50 a.m. Aug. 10. A witness heard someone yelling, looked out and saw a dark color vehicle parked next to the Hyundai. A damage estimate was not available.
• A man stole two bottles of gin and two bottles of vodka from a liquor store at 4218 N. Arlington Heights Road around 2:40 p.m. Aug. 7. The store owner discovered the theft on a security videotape. Loss was estimated at $84.
• A rose shrub and hydrangea shrub were dug out of the ground and stolen from a home on the 1200 block of Weston Drive between 5 p.m. Aug. 7 and 5 p.m. Aug. 10. Loss was estimated at $200.
• A propane tank was stolen from a gas grill at a home on the 4200 block of Pheasant Trail Drive; another tank was taken off a gas grill on the 4000 block of Newport; both thefts occurred overnight Aug. 8-9. The total loss was estimated at $55.
• An unlocked boys orange BMX bike worth about $180 was stolen from an apartment building on the 500 block of East Circle Hill Drive between 4:50 and 7 p.m. Aug. 6.
• A child's blue bicycle with training wheels, worth about $100, was stolen from outside a home on the 600 block of North Haddow Avenue between 5:10 and 6:20 p.m. Aug. 6.
Elk Grove Village
• A Kenworth tractor and trailer were stolen from a lot at 60 King St. overnight Aug. 6-7. The theft was valued at an estimated $105,000.
• More than $11,500 in money and jewelry was stolen from a home on Delphia Avenue that was broken into between 10 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Aug. 9. The thief or thieves pried open a door to get inside.
• A 1999 Pontiac Montana in a business lot at 1170 W. Devon Ave. was burglarized between 6 p.m. Aug. 9 and 1 a.m. Aug. 10. Items worth a reported $7,500 were stolen, including the contents of a purse, CDs and DVDs.
• A 2004 Honda CR-V on the 200 block of Fern Drive was vandalized between 9 p.m. Aug. 6 and 6 a.m. Aug. 7. Damage was estimated at $1,500.
• A 1999 Ford E-150 work van was stolen from the 200 block of Walnut Lane between 6:30 and 7:05 p.m. Aug. 7. The vehicle was valued at about $6,300.
• Michael T. DeYoung, 28, 1084 Maple Lane, Elk Grove Village, was arrested around 3:05 a.m. Aug. 6 at Reverend Morrison Boulevard and Cypress, and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. His court date is Aug. 29.
• A thief climbed through an unlocked window at a home on an unknown block of Harmony Lane between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Aug. 5, and stole jewelry and antique coins worth an estimated $4,400.
• Five vehicles in a parking lot on the 1700 block of Busse Road were broken into between 7 p.m. Aug. 2 and 1:40 a.m. Aug. 4; in-dash stereos were stolen from them all. Vehicles were a 1995 Chevrolet Geo Prism, 1984 GMC Jimmy, 1999 Dodge Stratus, a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 1988 Jeep Wrangler. Total damage and value were estimated at $1,000.
• Benjamin F. Bautista, 29, 9025 N. Lamon, Skokie, was arrested around 10:30 a.m. July 31 at Busse Road and Oakton Street and charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle. His court date is Aug. 28.
