Lake in the Hills mom pleads not guilty in home alone case

A Lake in the Hills woman pleaded not guilty Tuesday to allegations she left her two young children home alone to go looking for her boyfriend at a local bar and then kicked a police officer while later being arrested.

Randi L. Losch, 27, asked for a jury trial on charges of aggravated battery, resisting a peace officer and two counts of endangering the life or health of a child stemming from the June20 incident.

Police said Losch's daughters, ages six and one, were home alone for at least 30 minutes starting about 11 p.m. that night while their mother went out to find her boyfriend.

After being taken to the village's police station for processing about two hours later, police said, Losch kicked an officer in the ribs.

Losch's attorney declined comment on the case Tuesday. She is scheduled to return to court Oct. 7.
