Bartlett
• Homero Jasso-Serratos, 27, 955 Seminole Drive, Apt. 8, Elgin, was arrested around 11:10 p.m. Aug. 10 at Route 59 and West Bartlett Road and charged with illegal transportation of open alcohol and driving under the influence. His court date is Sept. 18.
• The outside of a women's washroom at the Bartlett Library, 800 S. Bartlett Road, was vandalized Aug. 7. A damage estimate was not available.
• Francisco Fausto, 26, 1994 Larkin Ave., Apt. 6, Elgin, was arrested around 1:40 a.m. Aug. 4 at Lake Street and Hillard and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. His court date is Sept. 19.
• Someone shot BB-gun pellets that put a hole in a window at Nature Ridge School, 1899 W. Ridge Blvd., overnight Aug. 10-11. Damage was estimated at $350.
• Someone pushed two lane line reels, several chairs and a lifeguard stand into a pool at Bartlett Aquatic Center, 620 Stearns Road, Aug. 11. Damage was estimated at $1,250.
• Someone stole $1,320 worth of tools Aug. 11 out of a locked work trailer belonging to Greco Exterior Improvements, 1281 Circle.
• A vehicle parked on an unknown block of Forest Court was vandalized Aug. 9; damage was estimated at $1,350.
• Kyle R. Defily, 20, 422 Millwood Drive, Bartlett, was arrested around 11:25 p.m. Aug. 9 on the 100 block of Hearthstone Drive and charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor. His court date is Aug. 28.
Hanover Park
• Hanover Park police had a confrontation with 20-25 people on the 200 block of South Bartlett Road Aug. 9 that resulted in one arrest. Police arrested John (Jose) Gonzalez, 17, 1436 Apache Drive, Hanover Park, charging him with assault to a peace officer, resisting arrest, criminal trespass to vehicle and disorderly conduct. It started when an officer was called to South Bartlett Road because Gonzalez and two or three companions had reportedly climbed into a tow truck and were tampering with the controls; they had left the truck and gone into a home down the block before the officer arrived, police said. The officer saw two of them leave the home and called to them, but as they walked up another 20-25 people came out of the home and approached the officer, police said. The officer felt threatened by some in the crowd, and called for backup. Police said Gonzalez raised his arms and walked toward him, and the officer took him to the ground, as the crowd surged forward. Five more officers arrived and the crowd stepped back, police said. No one else was arrested; Gonzalez's court date is Sept. 25.
• A sidewalk on the 2100 block of Arbor Vitae was vandalized with paint Aug. 11. A damage estimate was not available.
• Someone broke a patio window at a home on the 1400 block of Fremont around 5:30 p.m. Aug. 11. A damage estimate was not available.
• Vandals started a Dumpster fire on the 1500 block of Irving Park Road around 9 p.m. Aug. 11. A damage estimate was not available.
• Jesus Rivas, 20, and Eduardo Mercado, 21, both of 1669 McKool Ave., Streamwood, were arrested around 9:30 p.m. Aug. 11 on the 7500 block of Barrington Road and charged with robbery. Details, and a court date, were not available.
Streamwood
• A woman on the 1100 block of Colony Court woke around 10 p.m. Aug. 8 and heard someone in the second floor hallway; she shouted and the person ran down the stairs, grabbed the woman's purse from the kitchen counter, and ran out the back door. She smelled men's cologne in the hallway but did not see anyone. A loss estimate was not available.
• Vandals pushed over a motorcycle and hurled a rock through a car window at a home on the 800 block of Flowers Avenue overnight Aug. 9-10. A damage estimate was not available.
• Someone broke into a home on the 0-100 block of Eagle Court Aug. 8-10 by prying open a rear sliding glass door. Once inside the thief stole jewelry. A loss estimate was not available.
• Two bicycles were stolen from the same 1800 block of McCool Avenue recently. One bike was taken from a backyard between 5 p.m. Aug. 8 and 7:40 a.m. Aug. 9; a boys green BMX bike was taken from a backyard between 6 p.m. Aug. 9 and 5 p.m. Aug. 10. Loss estimates were not available.
• A slide and basketball court in Lacy Park, 717 Lacy Ave., were vandalized with spray paint around 3 p.m. Aug. 11. The two men seen by witnesses left before police arrived. A damage estimate was not available.
• A concrete wall leading to the football stadium at Streamwood High School, 701 W. Schaumburg Road, was vandalized with spray paint overnight Aug. 6-7. A damage estimate was not available.
