Briefs: Festival closes Route 31 today

Route 31 will be closed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today from Route 62 to Edgewood Drive, with Route 62 beng reduced to one lane in each direction, because of the Founders' Days parade. Detours will be posted, but expect delays. Use alternate routes if possible.

Fresh produce in Huntley

Saturdays in Huntley mean fresh produce in the village's historic downtown. The farmer's market offers goods from from at least eight local vendors from 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays on Coral Street.

Work slows Algonquin Road

Algonquin Road will be reduced to two lanes between Pyott Road and Hilltop Drive from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday while Lake in the Hills' Public Works Department stabilizes the soil on the road's east and westbound lanes. Officials hope to complete this work, related to water main work performed there in the winter, the same day.
