Briefs: Marianjoy merits a billboard
Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital's efforts to "go green" paid off not only in improving the environment but also in recognition by Clean Air Counts. The group is recognizing the hospital's efforts to eliminate mercury from its Wheaton campus, reduce waste and harmful emissions, install carpeting with low volatile organic compounds, energy efficient lighting and use cleaning products considered kinder to the environment. The result: a billboard recognizing its efforts on Roosevelt Road just east of Highland Avenue in Lombard. It features a Marianjoy patient who works for the Elburn Fire Department.
