May-Treanor eyeing No. 100 in beach volleyball

The AVP Crocs Tour's Century Club is an exclusive one - four players. The fifth, however, would start a new chapter by becoming the first female beach volleyball player to reach triple digits in victories.

Misty May-Treanor has the chance to win her 100th tournament this weekend at the AVP Crocs Slam McDonald's Chicago Open presented by Nautica. The all-time winningest female player in the sport (99 wins and more than $1.5 million in earnings), May-Treanor is already in uncharted territory. This would simply continue to cement her legend.

The Chicago Open will be played from Thursday-Sunday at Oak Street Beach. Airing on NBC, the men's final is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, and the women's final is 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are available at www.avp.com.

May-Treanor would become the fastest ever to hit this mark, doing it in just her 153rd event.
