Blackhawks sign free agent Matt Walker

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed free agent Matt Walker to a one-year contract.

The 28-year-old defenseman has spent his whole NHL career with St. Louis. The Blues picked him in the third round of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.

Last year, Walker played in 43 games and logged 61 penalty minutes. He's played in 175 NHL games for the Blues, totaling one goal, 10 assists and 275 penalty minutes.
