Special-needs tricycle stolen in Crystal Lake
The family of a special needs girl from Crystal Lake are hoping to recover a $2,000 custom tricycle that was stolen from their garage.
The red Versa Trike was designed for people with disabilities and is a recumbent tricycle low to the ground with a high seat back.
Kim Babiarz says the family saved up to buy the tricycle for 13-year-old Allison, who has cerebral palsy and is unable to ride a regular two-wheeler.
The trike was stolen from the family's garage sometime last week, and Babiarz says it would be of no use to someone without special needs.
