Daily Herald bias showing in caption

In the Oct. 21 L&E section, the caption used under the photo in the Jeffrey Wright article showcased the Herald's subtle political bias. Next to the photo of Jeffrey Wright, sited behind a placard that read, "United States," your caption was: "Wright plays Colin Powell in Oliver Stone's 'W,' here telling Congress about the dangers of biological warfare."

What a bunch of hooey. We all know - and remember - the original picture. It was from Secretary of State Colin Powell's speech to the United Nations (not Congress) advocating that the U.N. go to war against Iraq.

Obviously, it was way more than a discussion about biological warfare. It was a significant turning point in world history as the U.S. made its case for going to war in Iraq.

Perhaps, you meant to minimize the event as the article was about Mr. Wright, not Colin Powell? Or, perhaps your editors don't wish to acknowledge Powell's leadership role in getting the U.S. involved in Iraq?

Just wondering...
