Police beat

Palatine

• Ryan P. Vela, 24, 1717 E. Shannon Lane, Palatine, was arrested around 12:35 a.m. July 26 at his home and charged with disorderly conduct. A court date was not available.

• Tools and an MP3 player were stolen out of a home on the 200 block of North Mozart Street between July 23 and 26. Police said the homeowner reported that the theft was discovered after service company employees entered the home to winterize it and check the locks. The loss was estimated at $380.

Schaumburg

• A 2005 Subaru on the 100 block of Bent Tree Lane was broken into and the combination in-dash radio, CD player and DVD player was stolen between 9 p.m. July 21 and 3 p.m. July 22. Damage and the theft were estimated at $1,200.

• A 1995 GMC Yukon on the 600 block of Belinder Lane was broken into and a GPS unit stolen between 9 p.m. July 20 and 3 p.m. July 22. Damage and the theft was estimated at $300.

• A 1996 Ford Mustang parked at Woodfield Mall was burglarized and a cell phone and debit card taken, between 5:30 and 8 p.m. July 21. The loss was estimated at $350.
