Prospect parents offer football package
The Prospect Parents Football Council of Prospect High School have formed the Friday Knights Tailgate Club program for football parents, family and friends. Membership includes preferred parent seating, tickets to each regular season home/away game at District 214 schools via the district's quick pass program, a Knights seat cushion and a pre-game meal (main dish and non alcoholic drinks provided; bring dessert or side dish to share) Cost: Single, $75; couple, $140; three people, $200 and four people, $250. To order, send name, phone number, and e-mail address to mdlewis1451@sbcglobal.net. Packages may be picked up at the Aug. 11 Day of Knights event. The tent is near the entrance to the stadium.
Railroad crossing closed to Aug. 3
The Des Plaines Engineering Department has received notification from Metra and the Union Pacific Railroad that Lee Street and Graceland Avenue will be closed to automobile traffic through Aug. 3. The closures are necessary to allow for the shifting of the southernmost (westbound) tracks approximately 11 feet to the south, as part of the Metra platform construction. Pedestrians may cross at Pearson Street during this construction.
Access to all downtown businesses will remain open via Pearson Street, Des Plaines River Road and other area roadways.
