Fox Lake public works head retires
Ron Hoehne is taking off one of the two hats he has worn for the village of Fox Lake for the past seven years. Hoehne, who has served simultaneously as the public works director and village fire chief, is retiring as the head of public works on Friday. Hoehne has worked at the public works department for 34 years and the last 11 years as the head of public works. He was named fire chief in November of 2001. Hoehne said he has been honored to serve in both capacities, but said the benefits offered through the village's early retirement program was too much to pass up. Village officials said Hoehne's position will not be replaced, and that superintendents of the village's street department, sewer plant, motor pool and public works will report directly to the village administrator.
