Postal food drive another success

United Way of Central Kane County, the National Association for Letter Carriers, and the National Rural Letter Carriers express their sincere appreciation to all who donated food and volunteered their time.

In St. Charles, Elburn, and Geneva, 12,000 pounds of food was donated. Volunteers from the Tri-Cities Salvation Army assumed the task of picking up and sorting food.

"We did it the United Way … working together," said Food Drive Coordinator, Mike Masello. "This food drive is essential in helping those families suffering from hunger. It helps to fill the shelves of our local food pantries."
