Mount Prospect music festival features 78 bands at 16 venues
Red Orange was just one of the artists performing during 56 Music Fix, a three-day music festival in downtown Mount Prospect featuring 78 bands at 16 venues, as the event continued despite intermittent showers Saturday.
Event organizer Kelley McCaron said the event is in its fourth year, and the performances spotlight the personalities of each bar and restaurant venue.
"A bunch of us were seeing one of our friends play at a bar, (and) as you do sometimes when you drink you get great ideas," McCaron said. "We're like, 'there's so much talent in this town, why don't we have our own music festival?'"
The event continues Sunday, and a schedule can be found at 56musicfix.org
